SCREEN PRINTING
During the Fall 2022 semester at San Diego State University, I participated in a screen printing class, where I learned the techniques of silk screen printing on a variety of mediums. I was responsible for both the creation of the design as well as the printing.
PROJECT 1
For the first project, I was tasked with creating an abstract 1-2 color design and printing it on a series of 5x7 cards. I created a one line, abstract figure and offset the shape to create a 3D effect.
PROJECT 2
For the second project, I was to develop a call-to-action design centered around one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a passionate feminist and pro-choice advocate, I explored the topic of Gender Inequality through my "Operation" board game inspired design.
PROJECT 3
For the last project, I was tasked with creating a 2-3 color design to be printed on three or more substrates. I was given freedom to center the design around anything that inspires me, so I chose to develop a delicate, fine line collage of iconic locations from my hometown in Dana Point, CA. The artwork features places I grew up going to, such as the local diner, the coffee shop I always studied at, and my high school.
